My obsessions

My business website www.aquilafashions.com is a projection of what I obsess myself with, and these obsessions haven’t changed a bit since I was young. The only difference is the way they manifest themselves between then and now.

Something I did alot, spending a proportionately way too large part of my time and effort doing, was to hang out at the library arranging books. Never really enjoyed reading. In fact I hated reading but I loved arranging books!

I am obsessed with cataloging. It was really simple as a kid just arranging books. Now it manifests itself via my website. I can’t get enough of finding ever better ways to put my products into order, from the As to the Zs and the 1s to the 9s, constantly in preparation for more products to join in the inventory. As such, my website takes up just as much time of my life as the library did :D

Where is the glory in Entrepreneuring?

The glory in being an entrepreneur lies in the success of having emerged victorious, of being the self-made man from scratch. In the meantime, weather the indignity.

Nightmare: Favourite stinky pillow in flames

My favourite stinky pillow burst into flames all of a sudden and turned into ashes. I knelt next to the ashes and wept.

The afterthought

Doubt the go up in flames part will ever happen. But it’s a sign to buy a new pillow nevertheless, which I did.

Exploring caves with 大姑 (first aunt)

Many round platforms for walking raised above the water. Another set of round platforms under the water. Water level rising. A screw driver appears. First aunt unscrews one platform. The metal parts are rusty through and through. First aunt comments that the metal they use rust easily.

The afterthought

Huh!? Lol. Might be a lesson I’ll have with first aunt in the future :D

Getting lost

I feel guilty for working too much over the last two months. Business is good, collecting cash is gooooooood but it is not a reason to continue in like manner. It is wrong, to satisfy the insatiable urgent want for short term cash when, truth be told, other more important things were sacrificed. Time to take a break woohoO!… to seek a more sustainable manner to engage my business.

Nightmare… speechless…

Grandma was lying in bed not budging. Went down to unit below where my parents were also not budging.

Ask for help on fb to no avail. My mum finally budged when I sat her up.

The next thing that happened was that countless cats swarmed into my shop.

Fun at a carnival

What seems to be a furniture bazaar with a carnival-like atmosphere.

From bridge, I saw a chick whose boyfriend is an ang moh. Watching survival race of sorts. Ang moh and chick in dinghy headed left towards wall in what seems like loss of control of the dinghy. They eventually bounced off the wall and headed very quickly towards end point. Last moment before crossing the finish line, the dinghy was mis-steered off course again. The other competitor makes it to the finish line first!

The afterthought

Might be a carnival I’ll attend some time in future :D

One awesome fantasy

Da**l. Private jet. A380.
Went to Myanmar. Tried entering the cockpit on the top floor but could not enter. Apparently the top floor was closed for aircon repairs.
All expensive cars in the cargo. There were many girls too. Everything was pretty much mafia style.

When the plane landed we didn’t know what to do as well as where to go. Wished I knew ky** **aw better so that I could call him. Walked around looking smart, or rather localized, like what Karl said lest we get singled out for bullying.

The afterthought

“Karl” doesn’t seem like a person I know or perhaps, that exists. Nevertheless awesome dream of the future that might happen. Da**l, it’s all up to you to make the private A380 jet, expensive cars and girls happen! I’m waiting : DD

Drama

This dream right out of drama. Setting: old school hk streets.

3 man team. R*g*r, the girl I did biz project with and some other guy.

Project: to do cleaning service. Name: jia jia something. We were introduced to staff by someone who looks like next door guy.

Start service: food is inadequate. Tables not clean. Boss daughter hindrance.

My preliminary call: don’t have to do cleaning. Food is terrible so everything else is bad

Solution: first we ask boss to peptalk workers. Question, is boss nice? Half raise hands half didn’t. Overall the moment revealed the workers were loyal but were under pressure cooker and were never able to give real feedbacks.

Second the irritating pest daughter. She walk down and were shunned by the workers and their families. Some tried to humour her on giving face to boss.

Conclusion: style of new breed of service providers. All about feelings, emotions and value added service.

Fastforward to next scene: work done; sit down chit chat; got to know r*g*r and other guy better. Other guy left. Girl and r*g*r having problems, I left them; don’t be light bulb.

Went to bukit timah and ran into CS at a plaza. He was having a party. He was there to buy glow in the dark to celebrate. His friend comes along, brief introduction, I left.

Went back to school tennis court to find the gang. Charity event. At the corner of court saw Ivan. So the gang and ivan know each other.

Ivan said P*l*e is also here. Meanwhile turn around pulse is there. He ran I chased. Dropped my red camping bag. He thought he avoided me. Came up behind him and tapped his shoulders.

His reason: what he was supposed to do was really tough and he didn’t know how to do it. Then I asked him if what he did was worth 600 dollars he said it’s not up to him.

He tried running again. Just losing him. Realised didn’t voice record our conversation.

End

The afterthought

As detailed a dream narration as can be. Forced myself to record this while still half asleep so that I can ascertain that the brain predicts the future, if what is described above happens. Couldn’t go back to sleep after that.

Alien invasion

Martian attack. Tom Cruise style. Two rounds of attack.

I was hit. Hid under car. Night time more peaceful. Next day another rouund. Escaped again. Thai aunty came up to me. Directions to a map where there are many survivors? Long canal along a path. Row of houses. I was to head for an “end” after 5 houses. Found the “end”. Read it but was startled by a family boarding a car at the house next to the “end”. Couldn’t trust them. Then two kids came over to take the map away. Had to con it back from them. A small strip torn from the centre.

Huh!? Lol. I wouldn’t know but this (not the alien part) might really happen in future :D
